- Bicycle Race -

Results are out! My all girls team bike chicks came in 23rd in the internal mixed team challenge and 2nd in the all women’s corporate challenge
Timing is officially at 1hour 29 mins and 56 seconds. You can view results here.

Kelvin Goh’s at 1hour 29 mins 09 second and the rest of the men from his ‘The Reluctance’ team (made up of Head of Global Wealth, Premier Offshore and Group Consumer Regional Franchise), Team Road Rage and our Wealth Management head Singapore all making fun of him.

Nick to me: What’s your timing?
Me: 1hour 29 mins and 56 seconds
Nick: Ok, we will sign you for next year, we are dropping Kelvin Goh.

Hahahahahaha

Even though he was faster than me by 47 seconds, they were mocking him ‘You are STILL a man’ though our Team Hurricane member (head of wealth management Sg) tells him that his results are affecting his KPI and to look for internal transfer soon…he is too embarrassed to have him here..hahaha. I told Kelvin just try to be alot faster than me next year and he went 'NEXT YEAR? NEXT YEAR NOT JOINING ALREADY LA!'

Initially, we thought we were 3rd in the all women’s coporate category but there was an ‘ah gua’ in the team that came in 2nd place named ‘Simon Loh’. I guess that didn’t count and so we became 2nd miraculously. Not a big deal because there were only 13 women's corporate teams. Seriously gotta be faster next year!

The day started off really well on Sunday (race day) and I got up at 3am. YK was just about to fall asleep after watching ‘The Departed’ and ‘Hotel Rwanda’. He smsed me to get up at 3.30am when I was already wide awake by then.
Had instant noodles (1stbreakfast of the day) and then Fred came to pick me and Sparky (my bike). Drove through Macdonald’s West Coast for Fred’s breakfast.

When we finally found a lot at Philip Street, the gang had started to move off. After scrambling with the bikes, I rushed to 7-11 to get a bottle of H-TWO-O to mix with my half-bottle filled plain water to prevent me from getting cramps. I think I flustered because I was really running late for the race. The H-TWO-O over spilled on my shoes and as usual, I just went hysterical trying to laugh it all off. Rode to F1 Pit Stop and the atmosphere was just great!
Parked myself at my 'pit' base on my bib number and tried to hustle in front as we were flagging off in batches. Loved the Queen song they kept playing:

Sometimes the emcee will get us to ring our bells and I liked it! I was actually swarmed by DHL teams in my pit and I asked the obvious. One fella replied 'Yea, we're from DHL and we'll be making a few deliveries on the way'. Here's how the pit looked like when I was at the back, moved in front and in the dark (so love the blinking bike lights!):

So anyway, I was right at the front, flagging off around 6.38am with ample of cheers on my right "CFS! CFS! CFS!" and this dude beside me went "WHAT THE HELL IS CFS?" I told him it means consumer financial services. Kudos to the contingent for being organised and cheering for us all both on race day and during the ceremony. I was right in front, behind the usher's in orange and the cheerleaders screaming on top of their lungs:

Alot of people fell right in front of me and I was this heartless bitch that just cycled away whereas most of the ang mohs would stop. There was this group of ang mohs who always came 'Suit Up!'.

After my race, we took photos and I heard they waited for me but I was the last one to be flagged off so I came back late. YK was at our sponsor's tent and there was a buffet breakfast spread. Felt really like a VIP. I got Fred to join me at the tent after his race and remembered Lucy was also in the 20km race. Told them to come to the tent as there was food. That's where I had my '2nd' breakfast consisting of 3 chicken wings. I just couldnt resist them!
We then cycled back to the vehicle and headed off to rider's club cafe. I like the place but got horse poo poo smell. This is the other restaurant, not Rider's Club Cafe.

This, is Rider's Club Cafe. I even took a shower and changed out of my riding gear. Got hairdryer somemore. Had very nice omelette and chamomile tea. It was such a blissful sunday brunch :)

So there. I sorta had 3 breakfast. After which I went back home and Fred got my bike up to my place as usual. My mom thanked him for giving me a ride. Yes, next year everyone please do the 40km! Oh yea, I gave my mom some money to buy my bib number because she was so amused that the bib had 4 numbers.

I showered again and went back to Marina Square and had Waraku for lunch with YK. Wanted to catch a movie but nothing interest me. We ended up being lame again, watching HIMYM at my neighbourhood Macdonalds and laughing like idiots.

Oh yea, Monday night some bugger questioned me on why I did not inform him of my single status. I really felt like giving that guy a tight slap. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? Anyways, that guy got blocked on my MSN.
Work's been ok and I jogged another 5km last evening. I don't know what is wrong with me because I am feeling really weak and lethargic nowadays. I've got some rashes on my chest and back. The latest is dry skin on my right arm...YK says it looks like eczema. I think maybe too much Soya bean or milk ...

Was looking through some files and documents on my hard disk and realised I had some good stuff in there..Maybe I should post them when I'm free...Just for fun :)

Have a good week everyone.
